History of the farm

Gelli Uchaf, or Upper Grove, was a working
dairy farm until 1974.

With written records dating back to 1700, the original stone farmhouse is over three hundred years old. During recent renovations we discovered an old inglenook fireplace and bread oven that suggests the building could actually date to the mid 1600.

Originally comprising of a settlement of various buildings and barns and with over 49 acres, Gelli Uchaf now comprises of the main house, converted cow milking shed, barn, the Lodge and just under 10 acres of land.

About us Local products

Another wonderful stay @ Upper Gelli and our first time in a hot tub which we loved. REALLY going to miss that. Again everything was perfect. Tanks so much for all the goodies - the Easter decorations are great - really make each stay special. Totally recommend Pistyll Rhaedr Waterfall (near Llanrhaedt-ym-Monchant) esp if it has been raining. We caught it in full torrent + were literally blown away. (Cafe wasn't great though - or maybe we caught it at a bad time) Elan Valley & Hell Fire Pass - stunning views and walks. Enjoyed the Craft Centre @ Corris and the underground boat @ King Arthurs Labyrinth (kids would love this) Barmouth Beach (Mermaid Fish and Chips) is beautiful even in the rain. So back to work - sigh! But thoroughly relaxed - thanks Ros & Gary. We will return!
