Rare View: Seven Acre Walk
Guests staying in our holiday Lodge can enjoy three walks on our land.
The pond walk, with beautiful views across the valley, the barn walk, with views across to the wood and the valley and seven acres walk.
Seven acre walk is a fairy steep sided walk to the top of the field but definitely worth the effort! We have two benches for guests to sit and enjoy the beautiful views of the Arans and Berwyns in the distance, but what is rather special is the view of Cadair Idris.
Snow topped mountains, beautiful valleys and woods there is always something special to see no matter what time of year it is. Sights and Sounds of the ewes with their lambs are on regular offer! Several pairs of kites can be seen flying above calling out and searching the skies.
A fantastic spot to enjoy a picnic or glass of something! Exclusive viewing experience to the guests of Upper Gelli!
Rare walk: Deri Woods Llanfair Caereinion
It has everything, a magical wood, the beautiful River Banwy hosting salmon and trout (if very lucky you might catch site of an otter), a pre-Christian Holy Well, a stone circle, the Gorsedd stones, which has been the scene of the opening ceremony of the Eisteddfod, and of course the magnificent Taliesin Sculpture and tale of Taliesin story board and last but not least the beautiful slate stone inscribed with story of Taliesin in Welsh. Myths and legends in a magical space!
The walk changes with the light and the flora and fauna in the woods. Beautiful wild flowers create a blanket of colour. The bird sounds and the sound of the river cascading over the rocks nurtures and uplifts the spirit. Not a difficult walk but there are some steep steps to navigate.
